Tips on how to live in China

Tips on living comfortably in China:

1. Perspective: Don’t believe everything that is published across the news portals. Based on my experience, China is much better or open than we read about in news.

2. Visa/ documents: Prepare your documents including medical tests that are needed by the Chinese authorities. Make sure to carry a hard copy of all the documents as most of your online portals might not be accessible to you in China.

3. Translate: Get basic understanding of words like Ni Hao, Buyong, xie xie and others. Download offline accessible versions of translate applications ( other than google). Google has been launched in China but it might not be the best solution always.

4. Insurance: Always buy insurance that will cover you in China

5. Addresses: Most cab booking portals are in Chinese so take note of all important addresses (like hotels) in Chinese language separately so that you can show that to drivers while hailing a taxi on road or airport.

6. VPN: Download VPN that can be used in China. Most sites cant be used in China unless you use VPN.

7. WeChat: Register with WeChat application as it is the most widely accepted mode of communication and transaction in China.

Why Texas ?

If you think that sitting for GMAT is the most  difficult part to fulfill dreams of your MBA then you are wrong. It is the application process that follows the GMAT exam is the real hurdle. A deep level of introspection and understanding of your desires and goals is needed to decide on the right country/school. An even deeper level of understanding is needed when you start writing essays as google wont help. It is you and your aspirations alone that will result in meaningful worded essays.

More than impressing admission committee the essays help you realize if the dream you are chasing is really the one you should b chasing. Not everyone is fit for field of business/ management, some people are so technology inclined that they should stick to their strengths than chase a herd of sheep.

For me , MBA is a necessity to present my full potential to the world. More than academics, MBA for me is about experience of lifetime that will help me meet new people, explore new horizons and understand business from new perspectives.  America is the right choice of country as its exceptional educational experience attracts students from all the parts of the world. In India, Only numbers are given focus due to which the personality traits important for success in long-run remains unexplored.

My colleague was asking if he should try for education in Europe and I think that only knowing an European language is not a real benefit if you are not fluent in it because it will really impact your professional growth which relies heavily on coordination with team.So Europe is a no-no.

Belonging to a tropical country like India , I don't think I would like the cold regions of America.
But there are some regions like Texas which have temperatures similar to those in Delhi. Also, my friends are in Texas so starting a new life in that part of the world would be easier as compared to others.  What I have heard about Texas is mostly positive in teams of safety, weather, culture, diversity and cost of living. Given this I would really try for Texas and will hope that may luck be in my favor to help me achieve my goals.

GMAT - TEST YOU APPTITUDE OR MENTAL STRENGTH ?

I sat for GMAT. For all those, who are not aware of what GMAT examination is , just Google it.  But to brief you out ,it is a computer adaptive test (CAT) intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA.

I was preparing it on my own without external coaching for a few weeks. Yes, some people like me do trust themselves, even in this competitive era , and prepare for elite examinations without external examinations.

I sat for multiple practice tests before actually gathering strength to sit for examination with confidence. During a time when you have pressures at work to fulfill targets , Setting a time of 3 hours to practice can be tough but it is all worth it. Practice more and more but with timer. Questions are not scary but completing questions within the time assigned is. I mostly had troubles with Verbal part though I enjoyed Quantitative.

All those sleepless nights spent studying led me to the test day. By the way, in most of practice tests I was scoring somewhere between 620-660.   I woke up with worries on my test day ( Uncontrollable anxiety ).

But, I just meditated for a few minutes and comforted myself that 'Everything is gonna go well'. I left for test center feeling more relaxed and there I played my music ,EDM. Grooving to the music while driving through those jammed roads , I further got rid of all that pre-exam anxiety.

Finally, on reaching my destination I gave my examination with confidence. Trust me , no matter how much you practice ,unless you get hold of those nerves during examination you are not gonna perform your best.  I utilized the break to the full by freshening up and keeping mind away from worries of whatever happened in quant section. During Verbal , I followed strategy to note ABCD on every sheet of paper that really helps in questions cz sometimes you just dont look for right answers but eliminate the wrong ones too.

By the way, I ended up finishing my quant section half an hour before the scheduled time and verbal on-time. AWA and IR section was okaish. But best part, I scored 700 with 50 in quant.

So my tip :
DONT WORRY! EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE FINE! best of luck

TRIP TO MANALI

I went to Manali .i had great fun there because there I could realy feel the fresh air,see the clear flowing water, breath the fresh air. I really enjoyed there. But I felt that travelling travelling such a long distance of 600km wasn’t that worth as evn that place surrounded by trees all around wasn’t that cool as before.it was warm there also as we had to use the fans there also.we sweat heavily in delhi bt the amount of sweat & tiredness after waking miles was less there.then I understood that the global impact of human activities. Our repetitive depletion of earth ecological balance has made earth lose its natural coolness. Earlier we had to carry woolens to visit hill stations but all this now seems to be things of the past.even the traffic on those narrow ,steepy lanes was so much that once stuck you cant yourself reach your destination . a place rohtang panch was so crowded that the road to it always blocked aftr 3 in the morning.so,I went to madi to enjoy the snow that has been deposited on the mountains since they fell there in winters.i enjoyed there a lot.next day we went to hadimba temple where I got to know about the brutal nature of human rituals.i came to know that that particular say a group of 18 different kinds of innocent unarmed creatures would be slaughtered there to satisfy the gods.i ask you “is this wat god realy want”.so why the hell he created them if he had wanted them back.i ask you who the god really is.
Have u ever seen him.what do you really mean by the term god.in my opinion god is whatever that helps us survive & live life peacefully happily.even the animals who provide us with enumerable number of resources to survive are our god. so why we kill our visible god to satisfy the gods we have never seen. We humans have only framed impressions of our gods whose is existence is a big question in itself.
Eating creatures is entirely a different thing as god himself has created a cycle where one form of life eats the other to sustain.but killing animals just for nothing seems foolish to me.so world may have progressed modernized a lot in past years but the fact is that we are still chained by our false ideologies & faiths .

ill-management in india

TAJ MAHAL ,one of the wondesr of the world .it is the main attraction for tourists..it is the place which have really made India one of the best tourist spot on the world map..But what we are providing tourists is the discomfort , harassment,..this not only put a bad impression of india to tourists traveling all the way to admire this perfect piece of beauty.it is a shame for us that we are unable to preserve our heritage.all around the area of taj mahal there is a  unhygienic & unclean  surroundings ..the main parking is all made of space for camels & their dung lying all over the place.even , the normal parking charge of  rs.30 often cost the cars a hefty 5o bugs all because of corruption.but only allowance of electric rickshaws, electric vans, electric buses make it realy worth to see as it not makes us more eco-friendly but also introduces people to the fact that how well electricity can contribute in the field of transportation.but the roads to say are really unmaintained..all the area surrounding taj mahal is full of unplanned bazaars & houses..also the security arrangements at taj mahal are too light to cope up with any of the terrorist threats .the place is too unmanaged to control the heavy flow of people visiting the place on a daily basis.al wat we see when we are at ticket counter is absence os dustbins due to which there is garbage throwing all over the place even in supervision of inactive policemen.people sitting all over on the roads ,around  little green space available & uncivilized ,manner less people spitting all over the place.also the constant visits of VIPs delays the opening of the monument for common people causing a great discomfort as  people are never informed correctly about it & also  the official morning opening time is often delayed to a late afternoon opening, leavin no time for common people to fully see the place.security is too inefficient to maintain a proper well organized flow of the large crowd .

silly pa-perwork

Every other day we are to present any other paper work at our workplace or educational centre..The height of it is that in the schools & Professional institutes we  children are asked to submit various different written material which are mostly made by copying material from the books .whether a student is able to grab what he or she is writing or not but still we are forced to copy done that bookish matter so as to gain more marks.even though teacher most of the times also never pays any attention to the matter written in those projects but still a large pile of paper is wasted in such foolish activities.it seems really silly to me that we are asked to save more & more of paper by our schools & institutions but those places only force us to waste paper in making those useless materials..this is what we say that the places which teach us to preserve nature also teach us to waste natural resources ..is nt that really very silly of we humans..not onl;y such copying piles of work not only is wastage of paper but also wastage of energy, money, time which could have been used more efficiently & in a more beneficial manner..i would say that instead of giving such copying work more useful work like preparing assignments provoking creative minds or research work which may get children know more out things out of the normal academic related syllabus..it will not only generate knowledge among children but will also prove as a way to express their creativity & relax their mind with new innovative ideas.
